Satin Finish Buff 10" x 3" Very Fine A/O

Non-Woven Airway Buffing Wheel 10" x 3" Very Fine A/O

Premium 10" Non-Woven Airway Buffing Wheel, also known as the Satin Airway Buffing Wheel. With a 3" center and a very fine grit aluminum oxide non-woven material, this non-woven airway is an absolute essential for restoring metals that have lost their shine due to harsh environmental conditions. It is particularly effective for wheel restoration, and is less aggressive than full disc wheels, also making it ideal for producing decorative finishes on stainless steel.  This buffing wheel is a perfect follow-up to initial sanding steps. It expertly works to blend and feather in any lines that may have been left from the initial cutting/prepping process, ensuring a smooth and even finish.

This satin finish airway buffing wheel also serves as an excellent first step before the use of orange and yellow airway buffing wheels. It lends a finish comparable to a 320 or 400 Grit sanding, setting the stage perfectly for the final polishing steps.

Product Questions

What tool do you put the 10" Airway Buff (SKU A031304) onto?

You would need a Quickcenter safety flange set and then you could mount it on any straight or angle polisher or grinder with a 5/8-11 thread which nearly all of them have. Answered: 12/01/18

Good prep
This works great for removing surface contamination to get you down to fresh surface. Diamond deck tears it up quickly but is still amazing for prepping it.

I love them
Excellent! Living in Maine I see a lot of bad Metal I use the medium airway, then the fine, and very fine on my diamond plate, I run it at 1800-2000 rpms and it doesn’t chew up the wheels to bad and it strips the calcium spots away. If you work it enough with a Tripoli and a matchless orange wheel it’ll take the scratches out that are left behind from the wheels.

Cute but Costly
Great for ripping out road tar. I usually use these to apply a brush finish. Awesome results, but they do wear down pretty fast even with it being 4ply. Might hold together longer with a couple rows of stitches.

Very Fine Satin Buff
These very fine satin finish buffs are great to clean welds on fuel tanks and on rough diamond plate prior to polishing.
