Tripoli Compound

Tripoli Buffing Wheel Compounds, also known as Tripoli bar compounds, are widely recognized and used in the metalworking and woodworking industries due to their exceptional ability to enhance the appearance of non-ferrous metals, such as copper, brass, aluminum, and zinc die castings. Available in the form of brown or chocolate-colored solid bars, these compounds are known for their versatility and effectiveness in swiftly cutting through surfaces and removing scratches, oxidation, and other surface imperfections.

Notably, these compounds are also utilized in various applications, including zinc die castings, sheet and cast brass, copper-plated work, aluminum castings, and stampings. Many finishers use these compounds as an initial cut-down compound bar or first-step buffing rouge to eliminate sanding marks, belt lines, and grease wheel marks. They are most commonly used with treated sisal buffing wheels, sewn cloth buffing wheels, treated cloth airway buffing wheels, and can also be used with untreated cloth buffing wheels of any style for moderate color.

These compounds also serve a critical role in lubricating the polishing process, which helps reduce friction and heat buildup. Their unique coloring action and ability to display a brilliant luster on non-ferrous materials make them a preferred choice for achieving high-quality finishes.

Sold by the bar, case, and drum. Compound bars are approximately 2" x 2" x 10" and have an average weight of 2.5 pounds.
