Self-centering safety flange set for use with 3" center buffing wheels. 4-1/2" diameter. Custom CNC machined aluminum. Use to mount 3" metal center buffs on grinders and polishers. Self centering; eliminates the need for removable or permanent center reducer plates. Standard 5/8"-11 thread pitch, mounts directly without the need for an arbor nut. Limited lifetime warranty.

To use safety flanges, follow these steps:

1. Begin by attaching the safety flanges to both sides of your airway buffing wheel. You can do this by placing the  first flange on the shaft of your grinder.

2. Next, place the buffing wheel on top of the flange that is already attached to the shaft.

3. Finally, place the second flange on top of the buffing wheel to complete the attachment.

4. It is important to ensure that the attachments are fastened securely before starting the buffing and cutting process. This will help prevent any accidents or incidents while using the safety flanges.

Description: Quickcenter Safety Flange Set. (X1)

Typical Application: For mounting and securing a single 3” metal center wheel to portable grinders and polishers without the need for a shaft nut or a center reducer plate.

About: Quickcenters were designed as a quick change system when mounting metal center buffing wheels to portable power and air tools with a 5/8”-11 threaded arbor. They are self-centering meaning the inside 3” center section of the top and/or bottom is raised to fit inside the clinch ring. This allows for tool-less installation, quicker mounts and dismounts, smooth and secure operation, and eliminates the need for a center reducer plate.

Construction: CNC machined from high grade aluminum. Drilled and threaded at 5/8”-11 thread pitch which is standard on most air and power tools.

Precautions: Wear appropriate eyewear during use. Do not overtighten.

The Quickcenter X1 has a short step on the back plate to assist in centering the buff prior to installing the top plate. This step does reduce the amount of threads in the top plate in order to prevent contact with the back plate when installed. If the X1 will be used on a tool with a short arbor shaft it may have less than ideal thread contact which could result in stripping the top plate when tightening. In this instance it would be better to select the Original Quickcenter design which has a flat backplate and a taller centering step on the threaded top plate allowing for additional thread contact.

In conclusion:
The Quickcenter X1 is designed for faster wheel changes on tools with long arbor shafts.
The Original Quickcenter is a universal fit and works well with both long and short arbor shafts. Wheel change times might be slightly increased.

I was wondering if your billet safety flanges work on Zephyr airways?

As you may already know the Quickcenter Safety Flanges are designed specifically for our buffs for the most secure and balanced operation. Subsequently we cannot guarantee they will fit metal center buffs from other manufacturers. If they're not a close fit you will most likely experience increased vibration during use and if the buff already is out of balance then this would only add to that problem.
