Tripoli Compound

Tripoli bar compounds are a type of polishing compound that is commonly used in the metalworking and woodworking industries.  Brown tripoli buffing compound is known for its versatility and effectiveness in removing scratches, oxidation, and other surface imperfections form aluminum, copper and other non-ferrous metals.  Many finishers use our tripoli polishing bars as an initial cut-down compound bar or first-step buffing rouge to remove sanding marks, belt lines, and grease wheel marks.  Tripoli and brown rouge is most commonly used with treated sisal buffing wheels, sewn cloth buffing wheels, or cloth airway buffing wheels, but can also be used with untreated cloth buffing wheels of any style  for moderate color. To use tripoli rouge polishing compound , it is applied to a buffing wheel or polishing pad until a thin layer of the compound is evenly distributed. The wheel or pad is then used to buff the surface, applying light pressure and allowing the compound to do its work. The Tripoli buffing compound also helps to lubricate the polishing process, reducing friction and heat buildup. Sold by the bar, case, and drum. Compound bars are approximately 2" x 2" x 10" and have an average weight of 2.5 pounds.
