About

Description: Square End Goblet Type Buff

About: This buff is made in two shapes, namely, the round end and the square end. The end of the buff is tufted in such a way that the sewing does not come in contact with the work being polished. Designed for use on a taper spindle.

Typical Application: For buffing inside of mugs, goblets, reflectors, or any inside surface to be polished on both the bottom and the sides. Tripoli, rouge, or other compositions may be used. They also may be set up with glue and abrasive grain or used with greaseless compound and wheel grease in heavy cut down operations.

Construction: These buffs are made up from full discs of the required diameter die cut from the proper material. The discs are then counted and turned to the desired ply. The bases are sewed with concentric sewing and then hand sewed with the top. Suitable grades of unbleached muslin are used. Buff is raked for increased uniformity and a shorter break-in time. The arbor hole is hardened with shellac to help prevent over stretching.

Sizes: 1-1/2" thru 6" diameter. The length is approximately the same as the diameter. The best results are obtained with smaller diameters and they are not manufactured in diameters over 6". The sizes up to and including 4" are most popular.

Precautions: Wear appropriate safety clothing, respiratory, and eye protection during use. Requires the use of a cone point mandrel or tapered spindle for proper mounting and safe operation.

Note: Industrial grade. Guaranteed for quality and performance.
