6" Diameter by 2" face with a 1-1/4" arbor hole. Commonly be used as a set-up wheel with glue and abrasive grain or as a contact wheel for abrasive belts. Rarely used for direct polishing or buffing. Made from multiple 60/60 full disc sewn buffs laminated together to a specific face width. Canvas covers are then applied to the sides to help prevent the edges from breaking down. The arbor hole diameter is set during construction but can be reduced via reducer bushings. Cannot be punched to a larger diameter. Available in many different diameter, face width, and density combinations as a special order if not listed here.

Description: Laminated Polishing Wheel.
About: Polishing wheels are most commonly selected in metal finishing for use as a set-up or grease wheel. If constructed specifically for this purpose they perform exeptionally well and can be cleaned and re-built many times over the life of the wheel. When set-up properly they allow for multiple "heads" to be applied per build and can be an economical substitution for the more expensive coated abrasive counterpart.
Construction: Polishing wheels are made from full disc sewed buffs of the proper material and ply which have been turned, sewn and have had the proper arbor hole cut. The buffs sections are then glued together to form the required face width. Canvas covers are then applied to the sides to help prevent the edges from breaking down. Wheels are pre-raked which evens the face and allows for shorter break-in time. Cloth density, sewing type and spacing, and cloth type will directly affect the charicteristics of the wheel. The arbor hole diameter is set during construction but can be reduced via reducer bushings. Cannot be punched to a larger diameter.
Cloth Treatments: Although polishing wheels can be made from mill treated material dip treatments are not available or applicable.
Typical Application: Designed for polishing or cut down work on any flat or accessible surfaces on parts or components such as steel bumpers or steel tubing. Used primarily as a set-up wheel with glue and abrasive grain or as a contact wheel for abrasive belts.
Sizes: 4" to 18" diameter with the standard material selection as 60/60 for both set-up and contact wheels. Non-standard sizes and densities not listed may be available as a special order. Call or e-mail us for details.
Precautions: Safe operation requires the use of end washers or flanges. Wear appropriate safety clothing, respiratory, and eye protection during use. Do not exceed maximum specified RPM.
Note: Industrial grade. Guaranteed for quality and performance.
