Description: Loose abrasive grains, bulk.
General use: Aluminum oxide is commonly applied to the outer diameter (or face) of polishing wheels to form an abrasive wheel. This is achieved by placing the loose grain in a rectangular bin, rolling a polishing wheel (coated with cold glue around the perimeter) through it, and allowing it to cure. This process is usually repeated 2-3 times to build a satisfactory head. Grease stick is applied to the wheel during use to prevent loading and extend the life of the abrasive.
